People heal when they feel emotionally safe, deeply understood, and supported in exploring their experiences without judgment. When therapy is working, life feels less overwhelming, clients are more connected to themselves, better able to regulate emotions, and more intentional in their relationships. They begin to trust their inner voice, respond rather than react, and move through life with greater clarity, self-compassion, and resilience.

About Kyra:

If you feel like you’re carrying more than you show, constantly overthinking, over-giving, or replaying patterns you can’t quite shake, you’re not alone, and therapy doesn’t have to feel like another to-do on your list. I work with people in Fresno and across California who are exhausted, stuck, or quietly anxious about how to feel more in control of their lives, relationships, and sense of self. My clients are often navigating anxiety, painful life experiences, grief, relationship struggles, or parenting challenges, and many have lived through foster care, adoption, or disrupted family systems.

In our work together, you’ll find a space where you can slow down, notice what’s happening in your body and mind, and explore how your past experiences show up in the present patterns without shame or pressure to “fix” yourself.

I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), California Registration #138218, and I’m trauma-informed and EMDR-trained. I combine insight, relational connection, and body-based awareness to help you untangle repeated patterns without judgment or pressure to “fix” yourself overnight.

I work deeply with teens, young adults, women, parents/caregivers, and couples who are willing to reflect, ask questions, and explore both the emotional and relational dimensions of their challenges. Together, we address emotional overwhelm, anxiety and trauma responses, communication breakdowns, and the guilt or shame that comes from setting boundaries or putting your needs first. Whether you’re processing complex trauma, navigating ADHD, working through grief, or rebuilding relationships after loss or disruption, you don’t have to have it all figured out before we start.

Change tends to happen when you feel safe to slow down, get curious about your inner world, and experiment with new ways of relating to yourself and others. My role is to hold a steady, compassionate presence, guide trauma-informed EMDR work, and support you in noticing patterns, strengthening emotional regulation, and reclaiming self-trust. I use attachment-based therapy that honors the way early relationships shape current patterns, and somatic work that helps your body release what talking alone can’t reach.

Clients often leave feeling lighter, more attuned to themselves, and more confident navigating relationships without over-extending or shutting down. You’ll gain clarity, emotional resilience, and a sense of connection, to your own inner voice and the people who matter most.

Not sure if we’re the right fit? Let’s talk.

Kyra’s Approach to Therapy

Kyra’s therapeutic approach is grounded in the understanding that healing happens through connection, both with yourself and with others. Her work is warm, grounded, and curious, honoring what your body and nervous system need while never losing sight of your humanity.
Meeting You Where You Are
Life doesn’t pause while you heal, and Kyra understands that. She creates a steady, compassionate space that honors whatever stage you’re in, whether you’re just beginning to process trauma or working through longstanding patterns. There’s no judgment here, no pressure to have it all figured out, just genuine support at a pace your body can handle.
Brain-Based, Trauma-Informed Care
Kyra uses attachment-based and trauma-informed principles to understand how your brain and nervous system respond to stress. This means using techniques that work with your body’s natural healing processes rather than against them, helping you understand patterns, regulate your nervous system, and gently process what’s been holding you back.
Tools That Actually Help
Kyra combines EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and attachment-based therapy with creativity and flexibility. Sessions are engaging and often incorporate play therapy for younger clients or creative techniques that make healing feel less overwhelming. We’ll focus on what actually helps, not what ‘should’ help and find the approaches that feel right for you.
Activating Your Strengths
You already have strengths and resilience within you, even if they feel hidden right now. Kyra’s focus is on helping you discover and activate those personal strengths, building confidence in your ability to heal and grow. This isn’t about fixing what’s broke, it’s about understanding patterns, reconnecting with yourself, and building the clarity and emotional resilience to move forward.

Common Questions About Working With Kyra

I use a trauma-informed approach that combines EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and attachment-based therapy. This means I understand how trauma impacts your nervous system, and I use techniques that work with your body’s natural healing processes, not against them.

My style is warm, grounded, and curious. I believe in meeting you where you are, helping you understand patterns from the past, and building on your existing strengths. Healing happens at your pace, and there’s no pressure to have it all figured out before we start.
I work with preteens (ages 10-12), teens, and young adults, not younger children. My approach is especially helpful for adolescents and young adults who are navigating anxiety, trauma, grief, ADHD, relationship struggles, or identity development.

I also work with parents and caregivers who need support and guidance in helping their teen or young adult. Sessions are creative and engaging, often incorporating techniques that make therapy feel less overwhelming and more manageable for younger clients.
Yes! I work with individuals, couples, and families. Whether you’re coming in by yourself to work on personal challenges, bringing your partner to address relationship issues, or coming as a family to navigate conflict or communication breakdowns, I can help.

I also work specifically with parents and caregivers who need support in understanding their child’s needs or strengthening family dynamics. My approach is flexible. We can start with individual sessions and bring in family members later, or we can work together from the beginning. Whatever feels right for you.
I specialize in anxiety, trauma (including complex trauma), grief and loss, relationship issues, and ADHD. I also work with people experiencing emotional overwhelm, burnout, communication breakdowns, boundary guilt, people-pleasing, and difficulty saying no.

Many of my clients have lived through foster care, adoption, or disrupted family systems. If you’re feeling stuck, disconnected, or caught in patterns you can’t shake, I can help.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a type of therapy that helps you safely reprocess painful memories so they lose their emotional intensity. It’s especially effective for trauma, anxiety, and overwhelming emotions.

EMDR works with your brain and nervous system’s natural healing processes, helping you feel more grounded, less triggered, and able to move forward with greater ease. We go at a pace your body can handle, and you stay in control throughout the process.
Finding the right therapeutic fit is so important. I offer a free 10 minute consultation where we can talk about what you or your family is going through, what you’re hoping to gain from therapy, and how I work. This gives us both a chance to see if we’re a good match. There’s no pressure or commitment. It’s simply a conversation to help you make the best decision for yourself or your loved ones.
Sessions are collaborative and engaging. We’ll start by checking in on how things have been, then focus on whatever feels most important to you that day. Depending on your needs, we might process difficult emotions, practice new coping skills, work through family dynamics, or explore patterns from your past. I bring creativity to sessions and use humor when appropriate, making the work feel less heavy while still honoring the seriousness of what you’re going through. With younger clients, sessions might include play-based techniques or activities that help them express what words can’t capture.
It really depends on what you’re working through and your goals. Some people see significant progress in a few months, while others benefit from longer-term support, especially when healing from complex trauma. We’ll regularly check in on your progress and adjust our work together as needed. Therapy isn’t about rushing toward an endpoint but about supporting you at the pace that feels right for your healing journey.
Yes! I offer online therapy throughout California. Online sessions work just as well as in-person therapy and can be more convenient if you have a busy schedule, live outside the Fresno area, or prefer the comfort of your own space. All you need is a private, quiet place and a reliable internet connection.
Yes, I accept most major insurance plans including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and others. You can view all accepted insurance here. I also accept cash paying clients.
Yes! Cash paying gives us more freedom in our sessions. They can last longer. It’s especially useful for relationship and marriage sessions that way there is more time for everyone to get the most out of the sessions.
