Our history is sometimes like a library that has been turned upside down. Therapy will help you put the books away so you no longer trip over them. You’ll feel more aligned, confident, steadier, and less reactive as you move forward.

About Quentina:

If you notice that painful experiences from your past are interfering with the way you interact with your partner, creating patterns of reactivity, communication breakdowns, or displaced trust, you’re not alone. I work primarily with couples in Fresno and across California who are willing to work on the relationship even when they’re uncertain it can be healed.

I also work with individuals and families who are ready to understand themselves more clearly, feel steadier and less reactive, and move forward with greater confidence. My clients often struggle with communication issues, boundary fears, trust challenges, and the weight of past trauma showing up in present relationships. They’re looking for a therapist who will help them see patterns clearly and build new ways of relating to themselves and others.

In our work together, you’ll find a space where you can explore your reality, challenge beliefs that no longer serve you, and find understanding. I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), California License #19185, and I’m a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP), Certified Trauma Instructor (CTI), and EMDR-trained. I believe people seek understanding to heal, and sometimes that understanding needs to be of themselves first.

My role is bright, fresh, thoughtful, curious, and collaborative to help you reach your desired position in life. Our history is sometimes like a library that has been turned upside down. Therapy is going to help you put the books away so that you no longer trip over them.

I work deeply with couples, individuals, families, and veterans and military families. Together, we address confidence, communication, transparency, boundary fears, and self-compassion. Whether you’re working through trauma and PTSD, relational conflicts, emotional distress, or faith-based questions, I help you understand patterns, build steadier responses, and appreciate all of who you are.

I specialize in helping couples notice how painful life experiences and trauma reactivity affects their relationship and build healthier ways of connecting. You don’t have to have it all figured out before we start.

My approach is warm, direct, grounded, curious, relational, calm, bold, and creative. I’m collaborative, adaptive, and responsive in the moment, adjusting depth and structure as needed because therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all.

As a Christian, I’m available to integrate faith into therapy for clients who desire spiritual support. However, I meet every client with care, consideration, and respect for their unique beliefs and backgrounds, whether they share my faith tradition, practice a different faith, or prefer secular counseling. Your therapy is guided by your needs and preferences. Love is the foundation of how I show up, creating a space where you feel truly seen and heard.

What I consistently help people move toward is seeing themselves and appreciating all of it, no longer stumbling over the things of their past. You’ll have the authority to pick up what’s weighing you down and put it away, choosing the memories and patterns you want to keep. You’ll feel more aligned, confident, steadier, calmer, and less reactive as you move forward.

Not sure if we’re the right fit? Let’s talk.

Quentina’s Approach to Therapy

Quentina’s therapeutic approach centers on honoring your lived experience while helping you understand patterns clearly, build self-compassion, and find new ways of relating to yourself and others. Change happens when you no longer stumble over the past and have the authority to choose the memories and patterns you want to keep.
Understanding Patterns & Processing Trauma
Trauma impacts how we see ourselves, relate to others, and respond in relationships. As a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP) and Certified Trauma Instructor (CTI), Quentina understands the complex ways trauma affects individuals, couples, and families. She uses EMDR and trauma-informed approaches to help you understand underlying patterns, process difficult experiences, and build steadier, calmer responses. You’ll learn to recognize when past trauma is showing up in present relationships and develop healthier ways of connecting.
Person-Centered & Culturally Humble
Your story, background, and beliefs matter. Quentina provides person-centered care that honors your unique lived experience. You are the expert on your own life, and therapy is a collaborative process where she helps you explore your reality and challenge beliefs that no longer serve you. People seek understanding to heal, and sometimes that understanding needs to be of themselves first. This approach creates a space where you feel truly seen and heard, and your therapy is guided by your needs and goals.
Understanding Behaviors as Protection
Quentina recognizes that behaviors and patterns often developed as ways to protect yourself in difficult circumstances. Rather than simply trying to change behaviors, she helps you understand their purpose and explore whether they still serve you. This compassionate approach creates space to see yourself clearly, appreciate all of who you are, and make informed choices about what you want to keep and what you’re ready to release. Our history is sometimes like a library that has been turned upside down. Therapy will help you put the books away so you no longer trip over them.
Faith-Integrated Care (When Desired)
As a Christian, Quentina is available to integrate faith into therapy for clients who desire spiritual support. However, she meets every client with care, consideration, and respect for their unique beliefs and backgrounds, whether they share her faith tradition, practice a different faith, or prefer secular counseling. Love is the foundation of how she shows up, and your therapy is guided by your needs and preferences, creating a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and supported.

Common Questions About Working With Quentina

I use a trauma-informed, person-centered approach that combines EMDR and pattern-focused work. This means I help you understand underlying patterns, meaning, and emotional themes that are affecting your relationships and daily life. As a Certified Trauma Professional and Trainer, I specialize in helping couples notice how trauma from the past is interfering with how they interact with each other.

My style is warm, direct, grounded, curious, collaborative, and adaptive. I adjust depth and structure as needed because therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. Our history is sometimes like a library that has been turned upside down. Therapy is going to help you put the books away so that you no longer trip over them.
Yes! As a Christian, I’m available to integrate faith into therapy for clients who desire spiritual support. I can incorporate prayer, scripture, spiritual reflection, and faith-based principles into our work if that feels right for you.

However, I meet every client with care, consideration, and respect for their unique beliefs, whether they share my faith tradition, practice a different faith, or prefer secular counseling. Your therapy is guided by your needs and preferences. Faith integration is always optional and client-led.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a type of therapy that helps you process difficult experiences and memories so they no longer have the same emotional intensity. It’s especially effective for trauma, anxiety, and relationship patterns rooted in past experiences. EMDR works with your brain’s natural healing processes, helping you feel steadier, calmer, and less reactive. Think of it as helping you organize the library of your history so you’re no longer tripping over the books. We go at a pace that feels right for you.
I work with families, couples, and individuals (late teens and adults). I do not work with young children or early teens. My approach is most effective with older teens (16+), young adults, and adults who are ready to explore patterns, build self-understanding, and develop new ways of relating. I also specialize in working with veterans and military families who are navigating the unique challenges of military life and trauma.
I have specialized training in military and veteran family support and understand the unique challenges that come with military life, deployment, reintegration, and service-related trauma. I work with active duty service members, veterans, and their families on issues like PTSD, relational conflicts, communication challenges, and the impact of military culture on family dynamics. As a Certified Trauma Professional, I’m equipped to help with the complex trauma many veterans and military families face. I’m honored to support those who have served.
I work with both couples and individuals, but I specialize in couples counseling, particularly couples who notice that trauma from the past is affecting how they interact with each other. I help couples work through communication breakdowns, displaced trust, reactivity patterns, and boundary challenges.

I also work with individuals who want to understand themselves more clearly, build self-compassion, and feel steadier and less reactive in their relationships and daily life. Whether you come as a couple or individually, we’ll focus on helping you build new ways of relating to yourself and others.
It depends on your goals and what you’re working through. Some people find relief in a few months, especially with focused trauma processing using EMDR. Others benefit from longer-term support when addressing complex trauma, deep family patterns, or multiple concerns. I work collaboratively with you to regularly assess your progress and adjust our approach as needed. The timeline is always based on your unique needs and goals, and you remain in control of your healing journey.
Yes, I accept most major insurance plans including Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and others. You can view all accepted insurance here. I also accept cash paying clients.
Yes! Cash paying gives us more freedom in our sessions. They can last longer. It’s especially useful for relationship and marriage sessions that way there is more time for everyone to get the most out of the sessions.
